Terms of use
VoteColorado is a free guide to what's on Colorado ballots. By using it, you agree to these terms. They're short and in plain English.
An independent site, not the government
VoteColorado is run by BDITS. It isn't affiliated with or endorsed by the State of Colorado, the Secretary of State, any county clerk, or any city or town. We don't endorse candidates, parties, or positions on ballot questions. Please don't present our pages or data as official.
Information, not advice
Everything here is general information to help you find and understand what's on your ballot. It isn't legal advice or advice on how to vote. Summaries are our own short paraphrases. The official ballot language, your county's sample ballot, and GoVoteColorado.gov are the final word. Check them before you rely on anything here, especially deadlines, polling places, and whether a question is on your ballot.
Accuracy and corrections
We link every item to its official source and check our work, but mistakes can happen and official sources change. If you find an error, email corrections@votecolorado.org with the page and what it should say. We fix errors promptly and list each fix on the corrections page. Election-night results are unofficial until counties certify them.
No warranty
The site and its data are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, including accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent the law allows, BDITS isn't liable for any loss or damage from using the site or relying on its information.
Reusing our data and pages
The data files on the site are free to reuse under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license (CC BY 4.0). Please credit "VoteColorado.org" and link back if you can. Journalists, civic groups, and researchers are welcome to cite and republish our figures with that credit. Official ballot text is public record. The site's design, logo, and code aren't covered by that license.
Some information comes from other organizations, credited where it appears, including the Colorado Municipal League and county election offices. Their materials stay under their own terms. Lawmaker voting records live on Capitol Lens, a separate project we link to.
Using the site
Please don't overload the site, try to break its security, or use automated tools in a way that slows it for others. If you need the data in bulk, download the files instead of scraping pages. The search box may send searches our own matching can't answer to an AI classifier, as described in our privacy page, so don't type personal details into it.
Links to other sites
We link to official and third-party sites so you can check our work. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado.
