For how your state legislators and members of Congress have voted, and the 86 legislative races on this ballot, see Capitol Lens Colorado. VoteColorado covers the rest of the ballot.
What cities and towns are asking voters
Every city and town question, from the Colorado Municipal League's fall 2026 preview. Summaries are ours; each links to the official ballot language where the county has posted it. Results appear as counties report after 7 p.m. on Nov. 3 and are unofficial until certified by Nov. 25.
County, school district and special district questions aren't listed here. They're on your official sample ballot.
Amendments and propositions
Amendments change the state constitution and usually need 55% to pass. Propositions change state law and need a simple majority. For neutral analysis and arguments for and against, read the 2026 Blue Book (en español).

How this differs from GoVoteColorado
GoVoteColorado is where you do things: register, track your ballot, and see your own ballot. VoteColorado is where you see the whole picture across the state.

- Municipal questions: Colorado Municipal League fall 2026 election preview (revised Oct. 13, 2026), plus county clerk sample ballots and TABOR notices. CML counts 107 issues; we list 112 because we count each part of a multi-part question (such as Niwot's incorporation) separately.
- Statewide measures: Colorado Secretary of State and the 2026 Blue Book (Spanish edition), Legislative Council Research Publication No. 842.
- Candidates: Secretary of State certified candidate list.

How it's built
VoteColorado is built by BDITS with help from Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic, which helped gather sources and draft the one-line summaries. Every item links to its official source, and your county's official sample ballot is the final word.
Accuracy
Data was last checked Oct. 29, 2026. Some smaller counties haven't posted ballot language online yet; those questions link to the official sample-ballot lookup until they do. If you spot an error, email corrections@votecolorado.org. We fix errors and list every change on the corrections page.
Data
All data is free to download and reuse with credit. Files: municipal questions (CSV), statewide measures (CSV), races (JSON).
Every number, and where it comes from
VoteColorado reformats official records. It doesn't score, rate, or predict anything. These are the rules behind each number on the site.
Counts of questions
One count per question a voter marks. A town asking two questions counts twice. That is why we list 112 municipal questions where the Colorado Municipal League's preview counts 107 issues: CML counts multi-part questions, such as Niwot's incorporation, as one. Places are cities, towns, and Niwot, which votes on becoming a town.
Vote needed to pass
Thresholds come from the 2026 Blue Book. Constitutional amendments need at least 55% of the votes cast, except an amendment that only repeals, which needs a simple majority; the Blue Book lists Amendment 87 that way. Propositions and local questions need a simple majority, meaning more yes votes than no votes. Once results are in, the black tick on each bar marks the threshold.
Results
Results come from each county's official election-night site, with the vote counts behind every percent. Local contests aren't reported on the state's page. We show the yes share with its counts ("52% yes, 1,204 of 2,315 votes") and round to the nearest whole percent. Results stay marked unofficial until counties certify them, which is due by Nov. 25, 2026.
Money figures for local questions
Only from the question's official TABOR notice, as printed. That means the government's own estimate of first-year revenue and its reported fiscal year spending. We don't compute shares or comparisons from them. TABOR fiscal year spending leaves out some money, such as reserves and some grants, so it isn't the government's full budget. Every question gets the same lines in the same order; a line the notice doesn't print is left out rather than shown as zero. A person checks each figure against the notice before it appears, and a question with no checked figure shows none.
State fiscal impact of statewide measures
Copied from Table 1 of each measure's fiscal impact statement. Legislative Council Staff, the legislature's nonpartisan research office, writes these: the estimated change in state revenue, state spending, transfers, and TABOR refunds, for each fiscal year the table shows. Colorado's fiscal year runs July 1 to June 30. We add nothing of our own; a measure with no estimated effect shows $0. The short notes under some measures quote the same statement. These are estimates made before the election, not results.
AI assistance
A person checks every number before it appears. Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic, helped gather sources, draft one-line summaries, and read figures from PDFs. Anything not yet checked is left out.
What this doesn't tell you
A summary isn't the ballot language. Your county's official sample ballot is the final word, and the TABOR notice mailed to your home has the arguments for and against each tax question.
